The Bigger Picture : Hanna Lake drying up is part of a larger problem that Pakistan has been facing. As Faiza Kakar, a renowned environmentalist put it “No more rain or more rains, this is the outcome of climate change”.The Rising effects of climate change have caused a scarcity in the water supply. As a result, multiple lakes such as Rawal lake in Islamabad, and multiple historical lakes in Sindh have been shrinking or completely drying out.
where did all the water go?? i visited rawal lake in #islamabad to see the effects of water scarcity & drought in #pakistan. shocking!!! parts of it look more like a desert than a lake.. hopefully the monsoon season will bring the much-needed rain!!#SaveWaterforPak pic.twitter.com/RsNDHhvA6L
