Pakistan to conduct its first-ever digital census from Aug 1 to Aug 31, 2022

What happened: The Senate was informed on Jan 7 that the country’s first-ever digital census has begun, with field operations taking place from August 1 to August 31. Details: During question hour, the house was informed that the field operation, which would include face-to-face interviews, would be preceded by a pilot census from May 15 to June 15. In response to a query, Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs Ali Mohammad Khan claimed the national census cost Rs16.884 billion in 2017. Following Mr Shah’s objections, the Council of Common Interests (CCI) resolved to perform third-party validation of 1% of the census blocks at a meeting on November 13, 2017. According to the IHC, the Capital Development Authority (CDA) was not authorised to provide a no-objection certificate (NOC) to the Pakistan Navy because it had encroached on National Park territory. Details: He stated that the Faisalabad Industrial Estate Development and Management Company is doing a good job of providing amenities to the enterprises. The new 132 KV FIEDMC and Allama Iqbal Industrial City Grids, which contain FIEDMC’s efforts, were finished ahead of schedule on a priority basis.
