Severe heatwave might cause casualties; Met Office warns Pakistanis 

What happened: The Pakistan Meteorological Department forecasted  severe heatwave conditions  across the country and urged the population to take good care. As Dawn quotes,  “During the next week, high pressure was likely to grip the upper atmosphere from May 8.”  Details:   The MET Department predicted,  “Due to this high pressure, day temperatures are likely to increase gradually from Sunday in most parts of the country.”  At the same time, the temperature across Punjab, Islamabad, KP and Kashmir is likely to remain between 7-9 degrees Celsius more than the normal. Subsequently, south Punjab would also face high temperatures.  How would this affect you? The Met Office has warned that very hot and dry weather could cause casualties and put stress on reservoirs, crops, vegetables, and the orchards. Dawn quotes,  “High temperature may cause increased energy demand.”  The citizens are advised to stay indoors and keep a chilled water bottle with them at all times.
