The Halal Haram Ratio Chp 2 – ‘Cannabis is halal though’

Alcohol is HARAM. That is the one true monotonic pillar of Islam every Muslim will abide by regardless of the copious amounts of cannabis or LSD they consume. Every substance that inhibits behavior falls into this grey area of Halal but alcohol is the one true corruptor of souls.  I don’t take offense to what people believe in. Everyone is entitled to their opinions and beliefs so long as they are not preached onto others as the only good in the universe. Yet there is a growing number of millennial Muslim men and women who shamelessly consume cannabis but are disgusted at the sight of Muslims who drink. The halal crew, which is what I refer to them as, don’t like socializing with us, the haram ones. Bars and pubs are avoided like the plague but getting high as a kite in your parents’ basement is perfectly acceptable.  I recently got into a debate with someone and asked why they are okay with smoking weed and party drugs but not with drinking. They said it’s because drinking means their prayers won’t be accepted for 40 days, and that the same rule doesn’t apply to any of the other substances. By that logic I can pray after coming down from a molly high but not after sobering up from drinking because the all mighty can only detect traces of Alcohol and not MDMA or cocaine!  I am no scholar of Islam but I’m pretty sure anything that inhibits or intoxicates the human body is equally haram. That pack of cigarettes you just went through is far worse for your health than indulging in a glass of rum and coke. If getting high, eating an entire pizza by yourself and then sleeping for 12 hours sounds like a good time to you that’s great. Don’t tell me that my night out at the local pub with my friends is going to doom me to hell. I mean it probably will, but chances are you are going to be there with me!
