A short summary to bring you up to speed regarding the dharna being held by the TLP.
The Election Bill 2017 was approved by the National Assembly and senate. The same bill has since caused an uprising in Pakistan. This is the oath a politician has to take before registering as a public servant. The original clause includes the oath bearer to believe in the finality of the Prophet Muhammad (S.A.W). The clause had some minor changes regarding the khatm-e-Nabuwat which led the TLP in an uproar. A dharna was launched by the TLP to bring forth the names of the people who made the changes in the clause about Khatm-e-Nabuwat. The clause was restored back to its original form yet the dharna continues and has now spread to several cities. Police, FC and Rangers have been sent forth to stop the protest. Injuries have been reported on both ends. The situation has now spread in Lahore, Karachi, Renala, Okara,Faislabad, Kasur Gujranwala and more.
