What happened: Pakistan’s Counter-Terrorism Department has issued a warning of a threat to PTI’s Chairman Imran Khan’s life. The CTD’s statement is quoted as, “Terrorists are planning to assassinate Imran Khan, for which they have sought assistance from an assassin in Afghanistan.” Details: DailyJang’s report quoted, “The threat alert issued by CTD’s Khyber Pakhtunkhwa wing. The text of the alert has been shared.” However, the alleged assassin’s origin is quoted as being from Afghanistan. Since the threat’s issuance, the former prime minister of Pakistan’s security has also been beefed up. Another PTI worker Fayaz Ul Hassan Chohan, in a tweet, claimed, “I have details that some people have ordered a terrorist named Cochi in Afghanistan to assassinate PTI Chairman Imran Khan.”
