Ticket checkers held responsible for woman’s rape on a Karachi-bound train 

What happened: A Karachi woman was reportedly gang-raped by the two ticket checkers at the Bahauddin Zakariya Express. The incident took place on May 27, when the woman boarded Bahauddin Zakariya Express from Multan, which was destined to reach Karachi. It was accused that the woman was raped by the crew members when they checked her ticket during the journey. Details: On the other hand, a case was registered against the culprits as the woman complained to the Karachi City Station Police. ARY News quoted the FIR as,  “The woman passenger purchased an economy class ticket for Karachi and when the Bahauddin Zakariya Express reached Rohri station, two ticket checkers and their in-charge allegedly lured her into a trap.”  According to the FIR, the alleged culprits offered her an AC bogie, and the alleged culprits were identified as Zahid and Aqib.  More: Acting promptly on the FIR, Khawaja Saad Rafique sought a report and DS Railway claimed that the alleged culprits were arrested, whereas further investigations are underway.
