TikTok star Hareem Shah got harassed during a public event after which she took over social media sharing her experience. Ms Shah became a news sensation after she shared her viral videos of herself inside Ministry of foreign affairs. She shared a video of herself attending event with #MeToo. She claimed that she was mobbed and groped at a public event. “I attended an event where hundreds of my fans mobbed me. One of them touched me inappropriately.” She said. The video was a proof of how she was surrounded by group of men/fans wanted to take pictures with her. The video also showed how men kept groped her and touched her inappropriately while requesting pictures. She kept her calm and politely kept telling everyone off. A man even went on to hold her arm and in reaction she removes his hand off her. She questioned the society by saying “Kesy kesy besharam log hain iss dunya mein..(what kind of shameless people are there in this world).” Hareem Shah has already been in hot waters after her video of dancing to Indian music inside Ministry of foreign affairs went viral. When asked how she managed to get the permission she replied in an interview; “I am a big Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) supporter myself and have been affiliated with the party. This is how I got the unique opportunity to meet and make TikTok videos with PTI leaders,” 93% women experience some form of sexual violence in public places in their lifetime as stated by founder of Madadgaar National Helpline 1098.
