TRT World’s Diriliş Ertuğrul is dropping on PTV on Imran Khan’s request

“Artaghrul Ghazi,” the Urdu version of the Turkish television series “Dirilis: Ertugrul”  will air on PTV in Ramadan upon the request of the Prime Minister Imran Khan.

Imran Khan has previously recommended the drama and suggested that all five seasons should be dubbed in Urdu so that it could be accessible to the general public. Why did Imran Khan recommend this drama?  The drama has been described as ‘Turkish Game of Thrones’ and has a vast fan base in countries in the Middle East, Asia and South Africa. It may also have something to do with the Prime Minister’s meeting with the Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan and Malaysian Prime Minister Mahathir Mohammad at UNGA. The drama is due to air on the first day of Ramadan and has been dubbed on the Prime Minister’s request. Khan’s promotion of the drama has led its local fan-base to grow exponentially.
