What happened: Dr. Javairia Hassan, a 30-year old Pakistani doctor working in UAE, has been awarded a golden visa for her crucial contribution as a frontline worker in UAE’s fight against the pandemic.
Details : Dr Javairia Hassan has been in the medical field for eight years and holds a practicing license from Pakistan, England and the UAE. She became a frontline worker in May 2020 at several field hospitals in Abu Dhabi, Dubai and Sharjah. She worked heavy shifts of 15 hours four times a week to treat critical patients that kept her away from her husband and three-year-old son. Furthermore, she took part in the third trial Sinopharm vaccine from August to December.
Describing her efforts and input during the pandemic, she said, “Professionally, it was a huge deal. It was a new disease and there wasn’t a lot of information about it. We spend all day long wearing personal protective equipment and it can be overwhelming at times but as healthcare workers, it is our duty to step forward and help.” The golden visa provides long-term residency to inhabitants in the country.
