On Tuesday night, unidentified gunmen opened fire on two policemen in Islamabad’s Chowrangi No. 26 area of Turnol. The policemen were respectively identified as Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) Mohsin Zafar and Head Constable Sajjad, whose funeral prayers were held at the Police Lines Headquarter. An Islamabad police spokesperson assured that Inspector General (IG) Mohammad Amir Zulfiqar Khan had acknowledged the incident and two teams had been established under the supervision of SP Investigation Syed Mustafa Tanveer and SP Saddar to investigate the incident. The spokesman added that IG Khan had also visited the incident site and ordered the suspects to be arrested “as soon as possible”.
