Alison Mitchell told the story to former Australian cricketer Mitchell Johnson on “Commentator Cam”, sharing the taxi driver’s story of declining to accept fare from five Pakistani cricketers who were on their way to an Indian restaurant in Brisbane. The cricketers, including Naseem Shah, Shaheen Shah Afridi and Yasir Shah, responded by asking him to join them for dinner at the restaurant. Fans from both countries commented on how sports brings people together, even those from two rival countries.
If I were the taxi driver, I would do the same. No matter how many differences we and have, we're the same people born out of the same land & belong to the same race. I'm really overwhelmed by this gesture from both the Indian driver and Pakistani players. Thank you all
