A 26 year old woman was killed in Karachi when police opened fire on a crowd late on Tuesday night.
The firing took place in Karachi’s PIB colony where community service members were distributing rations to the poor in light of the lockdown. The woman identified as Saba was on her rooftop when she was hit by a stray bullet. The officer who fired the warning shots was Head Constable Azeem, who had a reputation of harassing people in the area prior to the incident. Residents claimed that their past complaints about the policeman had been ignored. Police say Azeem’s weapon has been confiscated and an investigation into the events is underway.
