World bank has agreed to double the size of its loan to Pakistan

The World Bank has agreed to double the size of its $250 million loan to Pakistan to $500 million to overcome health and economic crisis, reports The Express Tribune

$500 million loan has been granted to Pakistan for bringing improvement in the quality of civil registration, expansion of education, to help the poor cope with negative impact of the fiscal adjustment and of Covid-19. The loan size has been increased to meet Pakistan’s additional financing requirement because of the pandemic that has created a $2-billion financing gap.
