What happened: On February 2, the counsel for the prime accused in the Noor Mukadam case, Zahir Jaffer, filed an application against the IG Islamabad Ahsan Younas. Zahir Jaffer’s counsel, Sikandar Zulqarnain, the DIG operations, and the chief prosecutors were accused in the application. Express Tribune quoted the application as, “They held a press conference in front of the media and attempted to give an impression that court proceedings are conducted wrong and need clarification.”
Details: Furthermore, the IG and the other officials were alleged by Zahir Jaffer’s council, “The public office holders are creating hype instead of performing their lawful duties and they were trying to influence the proceedings of the court.” At the same time, another petition was filed by Zahir’s counsel stating that the murder scene was wrongly presented and was fabricated by the Investigation Officer.
More: The second petition filed by Zahir Jaffer’s counsel was quoted by Express Tribune as, “Application stated that the IO did not mention all exit points of the alleged place of occurrence and he concealed the green belt in his site plan.” Furthermore, Zahir’s counsel urged the court to proceed against the IO under the charges of purgery and deposing falsely before the court on oath.
