50% of the private sector to work from home due to the smog condition in Lahore
The Punjab government was directed by the Lahore High Court on Thursday to publish an emergency notification. It stated that 50 percent of private-sector workers to work from home. It is due to the high levels of smog in the city.
Justice Shahid Karim heard a petition for smog relief. The Judicial Commission’s focal person provided a report to the court. The court did not agree with the Judicial Commission’s proposal, that schools be closed in regions with dangerous AQI values. He also proposed that action should be taken against people who burn crop remains on a daily basis. The report further said that The Punjab Disaster Management Authority should report crop residue burning to the deputy commissioner.
According to the study, over 24,000 automobiles were inspected across Punjab. More than 8,300 automobiles emitted smoke. This is more dangerous for Lahore.
