Mian Asghar Ali lives in the small town of Pattoki, Pakistan. Over the last 10 years, he has planted more than 5,700 trees and plants all over his family home. He did it all to make a simple wish from his mother come true.
A Simple Wish
In 2016, Asghar’s mother dreamed of living among greenery. Though their home was only six marlas, Asghar decided to make her dream come true. He began by buying 50 plants for their home and walls.
Turning a Small House Into a Forest
Soon, his small project grew into a beautiful obsession. Because the house was small, Asghar had to get creative. He used every single inch of available space:
The Roof: Filled with hundreds of pots and plants.
The Walls: Covered in climbing ivy and beautiful green layers.
The Courtyard: Packed with green paths and fresh air.
The Cost and Hard Work
Building a forest at home is not easy or cheap. Asghar spent nearly 14 lakh Pakistani rupees (around $14,430 USD) of his own money to buy and look after the plants.
At first, his neighbors mocked him and called him “crazy” for filling his house with dirt and plants. Today, those same neighbors look at the house in absolute wonder.
The Ultimate Reward
Today, the house is a local marvel. The thousands of plants keep the home naturally cool during the hot summer days. But for Asghar, the biggest reward isn’t the internet fame or the cool air. It is seeing the happy smile on his mother’s face every single day.
