What happened: On March 27, Prime Minister Imran Khan set a powershow through his two-hour-long marathon address in Islamabad which focused on the decisive agenda points of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf. The true political struggle, which begins today (March 28), will be fought inside the National Assembly, as the premiere says he will be fighting against the “evil.” Details: The ruling party had planned to conduct the rally directly outside the Parliament building in the capital but it was moved to the Parade Ground, which is usually occupied by armed troops but was opened for the first time in a long time for a political rally.  The show: Workers, activists, and fans of the PTI came from all over the country to show their support for the embattled prime minister. People danced to party anthems, chanted slogans, and cheered loudly to different tracks as the premier was giving his address and took small pauses, keeping the event fueled with youthful fervour. Women, young and old, families, children, and the elderly were all present, which is something that is normally missing from political gatherings. What else: Massive traffic jams at toll plazas, according to people arriving from various cities in Punjab, were one of the reasons for the lower participation from Punjab, with long lines at every toll plaza even as Khan was speaking to the gathering. They said that no one was present to properly facilitate the supporters who came to show their support for Khan.
