After Lahore, authorities seal a warehouse in Karachi for selling donkey’s meat

What happened:   On January 19, a viral video on social media showed Karachi authorities raiding a slaughterhouse near 4K Chowrangi after an alleged complaint claimed that they were slaughtering donkeys and selling their meat in the city. At the same time, reports revealed that the Karachi police were able to recover 6 to 7 donkeys from the slaughterhouse.  Details:   The viral video also showed the police disclosing the donkeys at the slaughterhouse. Subsequently, the authorities are also heard interrogating the people at the slaughterhouse as allegedly 7 people were arrested from the slaughterhouse.  More: A report by FridayTimes quotes,  “Deputy Inspector General of Police, West Karachi Nasir Aftab confirmed that the meat had undergone laboratory testing and was found to be beef, not donkey meat.”  The same report suggests that the donkeys that were recovered from the slaughterhouse were re-homed in an animal sanctuary and the butchers were taken into custody.
