What happened: In view of the Murree tragedy probe findings, Punjab Chief Minister, Usman Bazdar suspended 15 officers from their jobs on Jan 19, and ordered disciplinary action against them. Details: Buzdar reported at a press conference that action was taken against the 15 officials which included their removal from authoritative posts, based on the inquiry committee’s findings. According to Buzdar, the Murree tragedy was “very painful” in every way, and a high-level inquiry commission led by the additional chief secretary was established to determine the causes and those responsible for the incident, “I pledged a transparent investigation into the incident, as well as measures against those who were involved. This has been fulfilled,” Buzdar added.
