Could CM Punjab Hamza Shahbaz possibly be sacked? As SC verdicts on dissident members
In what has been termed a historic decision, the Supreme Court of Pakistan has announced that Article 63-A cannot be interpreted in isolation and that the dissident members of a parliamentary party cannot cast votes against their party’s directives in this aspect it would be the PTI members. The Supreme Court of Pakistan issued its verdict on the presidential reference seeking the interpretation of Article 63-A.
However, in the verdict, it was made clear that the votes of dissident members’ should not be counted. At the same time, the second question asked in the reference was regarding the members being barred for life; however, the SC rejected PTI’s plea. Whereas, now, if the votes are not counted of the disgruntled members, Hamza Shehbaz may well be sacked from the Chief Ministership.
