Doctors baffled after finding 233 coins, batteries and screws in man’s stomach
What happened: The Turkish doctors were shocked after finding nearly 233 coins, nails, batteries and shards of glass inside a man’s stomach. The Turkish man identified as Burhan Demir took his brother to the hospital after the brother complained of abdominal pain.
Details: At the same time, the Turkish hospital doctors performed endoscopy, ultrasound and X-ray scans on the 35-year-old man’s stomach only to discover the 233 items. The Turkish surgeons found one-lira coins, batteries, magnets, nails, pieces of glass, stones and screws. Subsequently, one of the doctors was quoted as, “During the surgery, we saw that one or two of the nails had passed through the stomach wall.”
More: The doctor is further quoted as, “We saw that there were two metal pieces and two stones of different sizes in the large intestine.” Later, the doctors also claimed, “We found that there were batteries, magnets, nails, coins, pieces of glass and screws. We cleaned his stomach completely.”
