Emergency declared in Murree as Pak Army comes to rescue the stuck tourists
What happened:
On January 8, over 20 tourists and numerous were injured in Murree. The interior minister Sheikh Rasheed requested the Pak Army to conduct their rescue operation and help the stuck tourists. Rangers and the FC were called as all routes to Murree were blocked as the Punjab government also declared Murree a calamity hit the region.

Sheikh Rasheed, in the video post, disclosed that five platoons of the Pakistan Army were called for rescue efforts, and Rangers would be deployed on an emergency basis. At the same time, the interior minister said that the government was forced to close roads from Islamabad to Murre. He also revealed the number of vehicles stuck and said, “As many as 1,000 vehicles have been stuck since night. 19-20 deaths took place in cars. The locals provided food and blankets to the stranded people.”
