What happened:

In a media briefing outside the Islamabad court, PML-N’s vice president, Maryam Nawaz, said, “Imran Khan should resign and save his respect as no one supports the performance of Imran Khan’s government.” She also criticised PTI’s performance in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s local elections and said that the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf suffered a dreadful defeat in the local government elections. In her press briefing, Maryam Nawaz added, “If Imran Khan doesn’t resign, the nation’s condition might get worse.”

 At the same time, PML-N has alleged that Imran Khan was directly involved in corruption acts and allegedly defamed the country. The Information Secretary for PML-N Marriyum Aurangzeb also said, “Despite the Imran Khan-led federal government completing three years of their term, they are suffering from the Sharif family phobia.”

Maryam Nawaz also applauded JUI-F’s Maulana Fazlur Rehman’s performance in the local elections of KP and congratulated him. She talked about who will compete for the position of Prime Minister if elections are held and said, “Shahbaz Sharif is still party’s president, but the decision about who will be running for the PM seat will be made after Nawaz Sharif returns to Pakistan.
