Musharraf might return to Pakistan after all as his family awaits doctors’ go-ahead

What happened:

The federal government has given the go-ahead for ailing former military ruler General (retd) Pervez Musharraf to return to Pakistan as soon as the legal prerequisites are met. The former military ruler has been living in Dubai since 2016.


Tribune reported that, according to sources familiar with the situation, the former president’s family has been advised that the legal formalities and other arrangements for his return will be made as soon as he makes a definitive decision on his return which is contingent on the view and consent of his doctors. They stated that if the former president’s physicians allow him to go, Musharraf will be taken to Pakistan by air ambulance from Dubai.

What else:

Musharraf’s family is also evaluating whether he will be able to receive medical treatment in Pakistan if he returns.
