OIC urged India to bring violent perpetrators against Muslims to justice

What happened: The Organisation of Islamic Cooperation has raised concerns over the rise of Islamophobic crimes in India as well as the ban on hijab. Subsequently, the OIC has called upon the UN and international community to take steps against the hate crimes in India. OIC’s General Secretariat quoted by Express Tribune,  “Depp concern over recent public calls for genocide of Muslims by the Hindutva proponents in Haridwar in the state of Uttarakhand and harassment of Muslim women..”

Details: At the same time, OICGS called upon the United Nations mechanisms and Special Procedures of the HRC to ensure measures against hate crimes. New York Times report quotes,  “The hate speech is stoking communal tensions in India where small triggers have incited mass-death tragedies.”

More:   On the other hand, New York Times’ report further quoted,  “Calls across India for anti-Muslim violence, even genocide are moving from the fringes to the mainstream, while Hindu nationalist Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his top leaders keep silent.”  However, it is pertinent to mention that a few states of India banned hijab and Muskan Khan in February. The girl who became a trend on Twitter raised the slogan of Allah Hu Akbar in India after she was refused to submit her assignment in an Indian university.
