What has happened: Mohsin Dawar, Pashtun Tehreek Movement MNA has been disinvited from PDM demonstration happening in Gujranwala. According to reports many political parties including PML-N and JUI-F have shared their reservation about PTM representatives speaking at the procession. Why is Mohsin Dawar being disinvited: PTM has a long history of calling out state aggressive policies against the Pashtun community which has always put them strictly under administration radar. Kharqamar check post incident: Back in May, two PTM representatives; Mohsin Dawar and Ali Wazir were accused of inciting violence at Kharqamar Check post where 15 people died and 35 were injured. But these charges were dropped on October 15, 2020 when the KPK government repealed the FIR because of lack of evidence. What are people saying: Journalists are labelling it as an attack on freedom of speech and a missed opportunity to unified opposition.
Bizarre and unfortunate that as Pakistan Democratic Movement prepares to present a united front in Gujranwala for its first major jalsa, Mohsin Dawar has been disinvited from attending because some parties have reservations about him.
Historic opportunity missed.

JUI-F, PkMAP and some leaders within the PMLN have opposed to invite Mohsin Dawar at PDM’s Gujranwala rally, sources said. However, PPP has invited him for PDM’s rally in Karachi on Sunday. https://t.co/8UeGB0Wre2

Opposing the invitation of Mohsin Dawar to attend the #GujrawalaJalsa by any party is a very undemocratic act. I think PMLN is a party that believes in democracy. In any case, they should have invited Mohsin Dawar.#MohsinSymbolOfDemocracy#MohsinDawarIsDemocracy @MaryamNSharif https://t.co/eNhNSntcEh

Exclusion of Mohsin Dawar from #GujranwalaJalsa is unfortunate and unfair. Movement for civilian supremacy starting from Punjab shouldn't alienate other ethnicities from smaller provinces. PPP's invited Pashtun leader to Oct18 jalsa though, but if it wasn't for BBZ, they'd 1/2
