“Rally Jameel” will be Saudi Arabia’s first rally event for women drivers

What happened: On 27th December, Toyota announced that  Rally Jameel  will take place from 17th March to 19th March and will be the first-ever navigation rally for women drivers in Saudi Arabia.  Rally Jameel  is in line with the Kingdom’s 2030 Vision and diversification program relating to women empowerment.  Details:   Munir Khoja, one of the organizers at the launching event, said,  “We are very proud today to launch Rally Jameel, which will set new benchmarks for women’s motorsports in the Kingdom.”  The event aims to achieve national goals and invite tourists in a bid to expand tourism opportunities. The three-day rally will be a one-of-a-kind competition focused on navigation, time distance, and strategy with the help of a specific navigation gadget.  Rally Jameel  will be a 900-kilometer race as it will begin in Hail before ending in Riyadh and only 20 female drivers are allowed to compete.  What else: Earlier in November, the Saudi Football Federation hinted at launching the first edition of a women’s league in a bid to empower female athletes. In June, Saudi Arabia also announced that women could now register for the annual Haj pilgrimage without a male guardian. All these initiatives are aligned to promote the Kingdom’s 2030 Vision of Women Empowerment.
