Section 144 imposed and sea view declared as ‘no-go area’ in Karachi for the New Year eve

What happened:

The Karachi police have announced that the surroundings of Sea View will be turned into a no-go area for two days in a bid to curb the New Year celebrations. ARY News also quoted the SSP South Zubair Nazir saying, “Anybody trying to take the law into their hand will be dealt strictly.” 

Details:

Whereas, Zubair Nazir also disclosed that the businesses near the Sea View would also be closed as the local police will put up barriers around the area. On the other hand, Zubair Nazir also claimed that only families would be allowed to celebrate New year on the Sea View.

Also:

At the same time, the Sindh Home Department has imposed a ban on celebratory firing as the security is tightened around Karachi. Zubair Nazir, the SSP added, “Anybody involved in aerial firing will be booked under attempt to murder chargers while youngsters using motorbikes without silencers will be arrested.”
