The past: The Tamagotchi was an egg-shaped pocket toy that was initially revealed in the 1990s that demanded consistent love and care including feeding it and taking it to the bathroom. However, the latest version contains smart features that potentially help against neglect.
The company further added “Power Up, that allows users to record conversations with their pets, and uses the mic feature in the hopes of fostering a “deeper” emotional connection. The Tamagotchi will be able to “hear” and “sense” you, as a real pet would.” As the new Tamagotchi has the touch feature, the owners can now tickle and pet their Tamagotchi and build an improved relationship with their pets. The users will also be able to take their Tamagotchis anywhere as the smart version is a watch, so no more pets will be shutting down after hours in school bags.
