TikTok’s content moderator sues the company, alleging that her mental health was not protected

What happened:

 TikTok’s former content moderator sued the company and its parent company ByteDance for allegedly failing to provide her with a safer workspace. The content moderator suing Tiktok is Candie Frazier and has already proposed a class action lawsuit stating that TikTok workers were forced to watch graphic videos that allegedly included beheadings, suicides, cannibalism, and much more. 

Details:

Candie Frazier has also alleged that the workers were forced to work for long hours without breaks. While filing a lawsuit in Los Angeles’s Federal Court, Candie’s lawyer explained that content moderators are forced to review hundreds of videos per day. At the same time, Candie has alleged that TikTok has failed to implement technical safeguards such as blurring or reducing the graphic video resolution.

In her lawsuit at LA Federal Court, she has claimed that she has developed frequent panic attacks and depression due to her work. Candia Frazier is also planning to have TikTok pay her for the psychological injuries.
