What happened: The recent interview of PM Imran Khan has infuriated citizens as he once again calls out women for being harassed due to “very few clothes” they wear. While netizens took Twitter to vocalize what they were wearing when they got harassed, PTI MNAs are busy defending the comments of PM Imran Khan. Background: A day after the release of PM Imran Khan’s interview premier, which exasperated netizens, PTI MNAs held a press conference defending PM Imran Khan’s stance on women empowerment and women getting harassed. During the press conference, Minister of State for Climate Change Zartaj Gul quoted that “the premier was a symbol of women empowerment” and that “For the first time in Pakistan, five women ministers are sitting in the federal cabinet. This means that if there is a symbol of women empowerment in Pakistan, it is Prime Minister Imran,”. While on the other hand, Twitter can be seen for having tweets where women are verbalizing how they have been harassed despite wearing modest clothes. They also took the platform to tell how children are also being harassed. They also have been seeing protesting that rape and harassment have nothing to do with what an individual is wearing.
