Maulana Tariq Jamil expresses sorrow over the Sialkot incident: “Mein hath jor kr Sri Lankans sey maafi mangta houn”
The religious scholar Maulana Tariq Jameel visited the Sri Lankan High Commission and expressed his sorrow over the Sialkot incident. Maulana Tariq Jamil along with SAPM Maulana Tahir Ashrafi called the office and stated, “We are shamed over the killing of the Sri Lankan national in Sialkot.” At the same time, during the press briefing, Tariq Jameel said that Islam does not allow such incidents, while the consequences laid out by Islam in this instance are very harsh.
Tariq Jameel further highlighted, “The name Islam is security and faith means peace.” While apologizing to the Sri Lankan people, Tariq Jameel said, “I join my hands and apologize to the people of Sri Lanka and the nation is ashamed by the incident.” During the press briefing, the SAPM on religious harmony Tariq Ashrafi also stated that it was revealed to him that the Sri Lankan national was willing to recite Kalama if the mob violence stops.
Moreover, Maulana Tariq Jameel urged the nation to recite the Holy Quran and understand Allah’s message. On the other hand, Tariq Ashrafi disclosed that the factory owner would provide the funds for the education of the deceased Priyantha Kumara.
